The challenge was to re-use a short musical motif in as many times and ways as possible in 2 minutes. It doesn't have much layering because the turnaround on the music jam was pretty short.  As performed it was slightly over 3 minutes on the Roland FA-08 and then probably compression made it better anyway and gave it more energy.  I almost didn't catch that it was supposed to loop then went back and manually performed a lead-in ending for it.
