Star Shooter Deluxe III
There were technical troubles with the index.html of Star Shooter IV which in spirit is the true game jam submission, but for practical purposes I had to submit III as the submission to the jam just to get the submission form entered with a link that works.
on the page for IV I posted the raw Rosebud link as an auxiliary method of finding the game.
Rosebud AI vibed game remixed from Star Shooter Deluxe II, and all its predecessors
lineage is: Star Shooter Deluxe II, from Star Shooter Deluxe, from Star Shooter w/Achievements by Hoytman created in turn from 2D Blank by mruw
the successor Star Shooter Deluxe IV, and all predecessors are all when Rosebud AI hit a response limit and then i refactored for conciseness with Grok or some other reason with Grok to get around a Response-limit Stall then took it back to Rosebud and kept going. So by the end of that, the game is quite impressive compared to basic Star Shooter. These basically take one through the discussion that coding now is very often re-use even when it's real coding. And then even more so in the future coding as a discipline will be just arguing with AI where learning fundamentals will be like kids writing in cursive.
As pertains to "BALANCE" as a theme for GameDev.JS let me just say there -is- a balance in bullet-hell between things being ridiculous and things being 3/4 difficult and very pleasant and I think when you get Star Shooter IV to waves 13-19 you will get that feeling that the game has struck that .... balance.
(Hey we were told we can interpret the thing any way we wanted!)
